Bending

Bending is a mechanical process with which a certain object is deformed by applying forces to it.

Along with shearing and stamping, bending is one of the processes applicable to sheet metal to obtain flat semi-finished products.

Bending is used to obtain certain shapes, but also to achieve stiffening of the structure. In the industrial field it is obtained through a special machine called a folding machine,
but the first folding technique used an anvil and a hammer.

At GIEFFE we are equipped with the LVD easy form bending system, this system boasts an internal hydraulic system capable of uniformly distributing the forces involved. This allows uniform bending along the entire length of the sheet and also allows for series bending up to high thicknesses.
